Founded in March 2025, Blue Crab Fence & Home is the culmination of nearly 50 years of combined experience in material supply, design, installation, and project management. We built our company to elevate industry standards through premium materials, unmatched warranties, and hands-on leadership. An owner personally manages every quote and material order, and a dedicated manager—including our Decking Foreman, Richard Moorhead, who brings 30 years of building expertise—is on-site for every job. We stand behind our reputation by performing all workmanship to the highest standards and treating your property with complete respect.
Brent Donahue
Brent has been in the fencing industry since the early 2000s, beginning his career as a materials expert. Following six years in materials and supply, he transitioned into design and estimation, where he discovered a passion for connecting with clients. After five successful years in that role, Brent advanced into management and has been leading teams ever since.
When not on the clock, Brent is an avid traveler who loves exploring Europe's architectural marvels. He is also a dedicated fan of Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney.
Brian Butterhoff
Brian brings over 20 years of industry experience, the last eight specializing in complex, technical installations. Upon earning his business degree, he immediately became Operations Manager for a multimillion-dollar decking supplier. He spent 12 years exclusively in operations—successfully scaling revenue and ultimately exiting an eight-figure supply yard to pivot his pedigree into design and estimation. Today, he leverages this extensive background to ensure clients are fully confident in their proposed solutions.
Outside work, Brian enjoys hiking, camping, and dirt biking with his wife, Amber, his son, Bodhi, and their Bernedoodle, Chief. A dedicated thrill-seeker with over 450 skydives, dozens of wingsuit jumps, and numerous B.A.S.E. jumps, he even made an unannounced helicopter jump into his own wedding.

Before entering the fencing industry, Jim spent nearly a decade managing a training company. He leveraged his analytical background to transition into design and installation, spending six years in that arena before returning to management in 2023. Jim excels at solving complicated installation challenges and takes great pride in watching his clients' visions take shape.
Outside of the office, Jim enjoys hiking with his fiancée, Emily, and their dogs, Max and Moose. While they love exploring national parks, their absolute favorite trails are in the Rocky Mountains—despite Jim's fear of heights. He is also a competitive powerlifter who always welcomes a conversation about fitness.

Brent Donahue
Brent has been in the fencing industry since the early 2000s, beginning his career as a materials expert.
